Beautiful peonies are revered in Chinese culture for symbolising prosperity, love, romance and happiness.  They were deemed so special that for a period of time in ancient China, only the imperial family were permitted to wear clothes adorned with Peony patterns! Thistles are also loved for their beauty as well as their symbolism of resilience and protection, as Scotland’s national flower – they have been an important emblem of Scotland for over 500 years.

‘Blossoming’ brings together these two stunning flowers in a joyful mix of Chinese and Scottish culture, where Thistles adorn a china vase and Peonies are in full bloom.  A celebration of culture and connection, which shows us all just how beautifully we can blossom together.
