London Brixton Market Art Print.

Brixton Village. Electric Avenue. Pope's Road

Chayote from Costa Rica, chow chow from India.Columbian cassava and Kenyan okra. Senegalese sweet corn, Spanish lemons and limes from Chile. Plantain from Ecuador and bananas from Panama. And a dozen cheeky foxes from London. Brixton Market, splashed in colours of flags of the countries above. I miss Brixton. I don't live here anymore, but close enough to make a monthly visit to the village and market. Like I read somewhere 'A bit like Hackney but with fewer hippies'

MEET THE MAKER
Eye for London Prints

I moved to London in 2014, embarking on my first adventure living in a new country. Without a job and feeling completely lost, I began exploring the city on my bicycle, stopping to sketch various streets, buildings, and markets. These places were unfamiliar, yet they held a strange familiarity for me. Through documenting my journey in design, I rediscovered my roots, right here in South London. Brixton, where it all began, reminded me so much of home in Mumbai.

As a migrant, I found endless inspiration around me. Many of my illustrations reflect themes of migration, multicultural markets, and diversity. I'm particularly fascinated by the architecture in London estates, designed to promote integration and community.

Support our museum

The Migration Museum explores how the movement of people to and from Britain across the ages has made us who we are – as individuals and as a nation.
